Follow-ups
Your doctor will have a clear dosing plan for you. The recommended starting dose of AndroGel 1.62% is 40.5 mg. However, it’s important to schedule follow-ups to have your testosterone levels checked after starting treatment. It is typical to go in 14 and 28 days after you begin using AndroGel 1.62% for a blood test to determine if a change in your dose is necessary. You can also expect follow-up visits three to six months later. Then it can become part of your regular annual check-up appointments.
Since your doctor may adjust your dose based on your body’s response to therapy, make it a priority to schedule and attend your follow-up appointments.
Safety Considerations
AndroGel 1.62% must not be used in men with breast cancer, or who have or might have prostate cancer, or in women who are or may become pregnant.
